#2. Create your tournament

#Before you start: pick a plan

Every account includes one free Rookie event — up to 32 players and 4 teams. That is enough for a skills night, a 4-team tryout, or to try OutScore end to end. Larger events use a paid credit (Club, Organizer or League); each credit covers one tournament and is freed again when you archive it.

You don't have to decide now. Start on Rookie, and Upgrade later from My Account or Tournament Settings — your data stays exactly where it is (Chapter 9).

#Create the tournament

1. Open My Account → Events and press + (top right) or New.
2. Fill in the New Tournament dialog:
   • Tournament name — the display name shown everywhere (up to 100 characters).
   • Tournament ID — only shown on Organizer/League credits. This becomes the public URL, out-score.com/YourID. 3–40 letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores. On Rookie and Club the ID is assigned automatically.
   • Sport — Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, Volleyball, Lacrosse or Ultimate. This controls scoring buttons, the game clock defaults, and how standings are calculated. A size hint under the field tells you which plan fits a typical event of that sport.
   • Credit — appears only if you own unused credits; choose the free Rookie slot or a paid credit.
3. Press Create.

You're taken straight into the Setup wizard.

#The Setup wizard

The wizard lives at /YourID/Setup. Everything here saves as you go, and everything can be changed later in Tournament Settings, so don't agonize — you can come back.

#Step 1 — Logo

Tap a preset (Classic, Hockey, Flag Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Lacrosse, Ultimate, Trophy, Ice, All-Star, Blaze) or press Upload your own to use your league's logo. Uploaded images are resized to 800 px and shown on the public home page, the share poster, and the app bar.

#Step 2 — Color scheme

Pick one of fourteen schemes (Harbor, Midnight, Ember, Forest, Royal, Sunset, Ice, Gold, Slate, Ocean, Canary, Rose, Lime, Wine). The scheme colours the public pages, the ScoreKeeper app bars and the poster. The Preview card at the top updates live.

#Step 3 — Names & sport

• Sport — change it here if you picked the wrong one; the default logo follows the sport.
• Tournament name.
• Home screen title — an optional line shown under the logo on the public page, e.g. Fall Classic · September 12–14.

#Advanced settings (optional)

Expand Advanced settings to decide what the public home page shows and which organizer tools are switched on.

Linked tournaments — if you own other events (a second division, last year's event), add up to 8 of them as buttons on this home page.

#Finish

Press Continue to ScoreKeeper. (The Archive tournament button beside it is for events you created by mistake — it hides the event and frees the credit.)

#The ScoreKeeper hub

/YourID/ScoreKeeper is home base for everyone running the event. Admins and scorekeepers land here after signing in.

The house icon in the top-left opens the public tournament page — handy for checking what fans see. The avatar menu on the right switches between tournaments you administer and returns to My Account.

#Tournament Settings

Manage → Tools → Tournament settings (or /YourID/Admin/TournamentSettings) is the long-form version of the Setup wizard, plus a few owner-only tools. Everything here saves immediately.

From top to bottom:

• Logo & presets, Name (pencil to edit), Sport.
• Color scheme.
• Home Screen — Title of Home Page, Linked Tournaments, and the same Show … switches as the wizard. Show Rules and Show Trades are enabled by OutScore support on request.
• Features — the same feature switches as the wizard.
• Event credit — the plan this event is running on and its roster usage (24 / 32 players · 4 / 4 teams), with Upgrade this event.
• Archive tournament — hide the event and free its credit; Organizer/League owners also see Duplicate and archive (Chapter 9).

#Share your tournament

Your public page is https://www.out-score.com/YourID — that's the only link players and fans ever need. The share icon (a box with an arrow) appears in the app bar of the public page, the Admin hub, and Tournament Settings.

• Share link — opens your phone's share sheet (on devices that support it).
• Copy link — copies the URL.
• Download graphic — builds a ready-to-post image with your logo, the event name, Watch the score live, a QR code to the public page and the URL. Choose Social post (square), Story / Reel (vertical), Printable flyer (letter) or Widescreen / screensaver (for the rink TV), then press Download PNG.
