You don't have to run a tournament alone. OutScore has two ways to bring people in: accounts with a role (for people who help all event long) and links (for captains and volunteers who need to do one job without signing up).
| Role | Can … | Cannot … |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | Everything in this guide: settings, roster, users, invitations, games, draft, playoffs, exports. | Archive or duplicate the event unless they are the owner (the account that created it). |
| Scorekeeper | Score games, run the clock, schedule and edit games, view and edit players and teams, run the draft and bracket, invite scorekeepers and captains, edit captains' user records. | Open Tournament Settings or the Setup wizard, add new players or teams, invite or edit Admins. |
| Team Captain | See their own team page, bookmark undrafted players, pick in the draft; with an account, also edit their roster's numbers, positions, skill ratings and photos. | Anything in the ScoreKeeper hub. |
| Player / fan | Browse every public page. | Sign in to anything (they don't need to). |
The person who creates the tournament is its owner. Owners are Admins with three extra powers: Archive, Duplicate & archive, and Upgrade this event.
From the ScoreKeeper hub press Manage. Admins see two tabs — Tools and Users; scorekeepers see Users only.

The invitation appears under Pending invites with its code (or email) and expiry — 24 hours by default.

Beside each pending invite:
https://www.out-score.com/CreateAccount/<CODE> — so you can paste it into a group chat.
The invitee opens the link (or types the code at Sign Up → I have an invite code), creates an account, and lands in your tournament with the right role. The process from their side is in Chapter 1.
Note
Everyone who has joined is listed under the pending invites, with a role chip. Select a person to see their Profile and Details, then press Edit to change their Display name, Role or Linked player.

Two safeguards: scorekeepers can't edit admins, and a tournament must always keep at least one active admin — the last one can't be demoted.
Draft night moves fast, and not every captain wants to sign up for anything. A captain link lets a captain view their team, bookmark players and make picks from their phone for 14 days, with no account.

When the captain opens the link they land on their Team Captain page with a banner explaining what they can do.

Tip
Give every captain a captain link for draft night. Only send a Team Captain invitation (an account) to captains who will maintain their roster during the season.
You can hand a single game to anyone — a parent, a ref, the player sitting out — with a scorekeeper link. It is game-specific, works for 14 days, and requires no account.
The volunteer sees the full live scoring page — score buttons, clock, goals, penalties, End game — with a banner explaining the limits. They can't edit the schedule or delete the game.

Live scoring itself is covered in Chapter 6.
